The Royal Jordanian Squash Open 2012 started yesterday in Amman – Jordan as a PSA 5.000 Dollars Tournament with three surprises in one day. Seeded players 1, 3 & 4 lost their first round matches:
Syed Ali Bokhari [Q/PAK] beat Charles Sharpes [1/ENG] (3:1) 10-12 11-8 11-9 11-9
Ahmad Alzabidi [JOR] beat Mazen Hesham Ga Sabry [4/EGY] (3:1) 11-7 11-9 4-11 12-10
Amaad Fareed [Q/PAK] beat Ben Coleman [3/ENG] (3:1) 11-9 7-11 11-6 11-9
All games were played in one main Glass Court with matches lasting until late hours due to the International Referee Workshop held by the Asian Federation in cooperation with Jordan Squash Federation under the management of Mr. Munir Shah from Singapore, where 8 Jordanian Referees and one Libyan taking part under his assessment in the hope of achieving their “Asian Regional Referee” title after completing and passing three assessments each.
