The Asian Junior championships hit the business end of the tournament in the wonderful Kish Island venue. Players have been fighting tooth and nail to make it to the semi finals of what is the pinnacle event within Asia.
In the Boys under 13 top seed Ibrahim Abulaban of Jordan lost out to upcoming Tin Lok Lau of Hong Kong and in the bottom half of the draw where the winner seems more likely to come from Hammas Tararr from Pakistan will take on Jesse Foo of Malaysia who brushed aside their opponents today.
In the Boys under 15 event Mohammed Al Saraj had an easier day than yesterday scoring a 3-0 win over local player Mohammed Ali Farhat. He will take on Ng Ka Yin after he beat another local player Alireza Shameli who also received some very local support the same as his brother did in the older age groups. In the top half of the draw Robin Mann defeated fellow Indian Ranjit Singh three games to one. Top seed Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia defeated Velvan Senthilkumar again of India three games to love.
Boys under 19 saw the big four move into the semi finals in what promises to be some big matches tomorrow. Ali Bhokari began proceedings by beating Yueng Ho Wai of Hong Kong and he will take on Mahesh Mangaonkor after he defeated Erfan Jamshidi. In the top half of the draw Ahmed Al Sarraj defeated Cheuk Yau Tang from Hong Kong. Despite losing the first game Al Saraj fought back to take the next three. Top seed and defending champion Danish Atlas Khan defeated Addeen Idrakie of Malaysia with plenty left in the tank for tomorrows match.
